Why Include an External Charger?

Normally batteries can be charged inside the camera using a USB Type-C cable, but this means the camera cannot be used while charging. For this reason, many underwater photographers prefer to use an external charger together with spare batteries. One battery can be charging while another remains ready for use, helping to avoid interruptions during dive trips and holidays.

Tough by Name, Tough by Nature

The Olympus Tough series, now continued as the OM System Tough series, has been a popular choice among beginner and enthusiast underwater photographers for many years. The TG-7 continues this tradition with a compact design that is well suited to snorkelling, diving and outdoor adventures.

The camera is shockproof, freezeproof down to -10°C (14°F), crushproof up to 100 kg (220 lb) and waterproof to a depth of 15 metres (49 ft) without a housing. This makes it a reliable companion both in and around the water.

Although the TG-7 is waterproof on its own, we still recommend using the PT-059 underwater housing whenever possible. It provides additional protection against salt water, sand and impacts while helping to keep buttons and seals in excellent condition over time.
