Trays and handles as the base of your setup

A tray connects directly to the housing and ensures stability under water. The handles provide a firm grip and act as attachment points for arms, clamps and other rig components.

These systems are widely used in underwater photography and video to achieve secure and ergonomic handling during dives.

Single and double handle trays

Single-handle trays are compact and suited for lightweight rigs with one strobe or light. Double-handle trays provide more control and are ideal for setups with two strobes or larger video lamps.

  • Single handle trays for compact rigs
  • Double handle trays for dual-light systems

Connecting trays with base adaptors and arms

To mount lighting, an underwater housing requires a tray. The tray provides handles and the base for attaching arms. A base adaptor is needed to start the connection, after which ball arms, flex arms or float arms can be added. These arms then carry strobes or video lights, completing the modular rig.

Building a modular system

Trays and handles are the starting point for modular rigs. They connect with ball arms or flex arms, secured by clamps and finished with strobe adapters.

For ready-made options, see packages, which include trays, handles and arms in one complete set. For comparisons, visit the blog the perfect arms for your underwater camera.
