Nauticam NA-R6V underwater housing for Canon EOS R6 V

The Nauticam NA-R6V underwater housing for Canon EOS R6 V is a video-focused aluminium housing for underwater filming. It is depth rated to 100 m and uses the N120 RF Mount II port system for compatible Canon RF lenses. Direct access to recording, autofocus, playback, zoom and focus controls supports operation while maintaining a stable grip. HDMI connectivity also allows the camera to be used with compatible external monitor housings.

Lens and port compatibility

The housing uses the N120 RF Mount II port system and supports compatible RF lenses with RF Lens Gear System II gears 19630 to 19648. The dual-function lens control knob switches between zoom and focus using the lever positioned below the control. Exact lens, gear, extension and port combinations depend on the selected RF lens.

Compatible configurations include conventional dome ports and water-contact optics. Depending on the lens and configuration, supported optics include WACP-1B, WACP-2, WWL-C, FCP, MFO-1, MFO-3 and SMC-3. Compatibility must be checked for the specific lens and port combination.

External monitoring

The Canon EOS R6 V has no built-in viewfinder, making the rear display or an external monitor the primary viewing interface. The NA-R6V supports HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 cable systems for routing the camera's full-size HDMI output to a compatible underwater monitor or recorder housing.

The housing has one M24 and one M16 accessory port at the front, plus one M16 port at the rear. These connections allow suitable HDMI bulkhead and cable configurations to be installed for compatible external monitoring systems.

Mounting options

The front top section provides sixteen 1/4-20 UNC mounting points and one M10 threaded hole for accessories such as mounting balls, lights and monitor supports. The base has three 1/4-20 UNC points for tripod plates or skids, together with six M5 mounting points.

The NA-R6V is intended primarily for video configurations with continuous lighting. Flash triggering and X-sync for still photography are not supported.

Vacuum and leak detection

A moisture alarm and leak detector are integrated into the housing and powered by a pre-installed CR-2032 battery. The optional Nauticam 25625 M16 Vacuum Valve II adds vacuum monitoring for checking the housing seal before entering the water.
