The Nauticam NA-A7RVI underwater housing provides fingertip access to all essential camera controls within a robust and reliable aluminum underwater enclosure. Ergonomic access to camera operation is one of Nauticam’s defining strengths, and the NA-A7RVI continues this tradition. Essential camera settings can be adjusted directly from the handles, keeping all key controls within easy reach.

The NA-A7RVI housing inherits the core design elements of Nauticam’s professional DSLR range and integrates them into a more compact form factor. A patented port locking lever allows lens changes to be completed within seconds. Opening the housing for quick battery and media changes is fast and simple thanks to its secure locking system.

Mission Control Ergonomics

Never miss a shot due to searching for a button or dial. Wherever a control is located on the camera, Nauticam engineers replicate it inside the housing exactly where it is needed. Critical dials and buttons are positioned within easy reach of the reinforced ergonomic handgrips. On top of the housing, a dedicated lever enables fast switching between Still, Movie, and S&Q (VFR Video) modes. A dual thumb lever on the right handle controls REC and AF-ON, while a single lever on the left handle operates Playback.

Camera Compatibility

The NA-A7RVI housing is compatible with the Sony a7R VI mirrorless camera.

Premium Professional Optics

Built around the N100 port system for Sony E-mount, the NA-A7RVI supports a wide range of native lenses using selected optical glass and acrylic ports. When paired with an E-mount to EF-mount lens adapter and an N100 to N120 adapter, the system can be used with Canon EF-mount lenses and port systems.

The NA-A7RVI also supports Nauticam’s advanced Water Contact optics, including the WACP-1 and WWL-1B, delivering an ultra-wide field of view up to 130°, full zoom functionality, and near-zero minimum focus distance with compatible lenses. For macro photography, the SMC-1 and SMC-2 super macro converters deliver extreme magnification up to 4x when used with the Sony 90mm macro lens.

Vacuum Monitoring and Leak Detection

The housing comes pre-installed with electronics for Nauticam’s vacuum monitoring and leak detection system, requiring only the optional M14 vacuum valve (25624). This system continuously monitors the housing’s waterproof integrity and dive safety status. A color-coded LED indicator shows whether vacuum pressure is stable or if there is a leak.

Leak detection is integrated into the same circuit, providing both audible and visual alerts in case of water ingress. The system is temperature compensated, preventing false alarms caused by environmental temperature changes or heat generated by the camera during operation.

Flash Triggering

External strobes can be triggered via integrated fiber-optic ports using the optional Mini Flash Trigger for Sony (26302). Additional third-party solutions from UWTechnics and Turtle offer advanced functionality such as HSS and TTL. Electronic triggering is also available via optional Nikonos or Ikelite-style bulkhead connections.
