The o-ring is the most important part of the gearcase and deserves the most attention during maintenance. Prevent the o-ring from drying out by lubricating it regularly with the original grease.

Before each dive, check the o-ring for dirt, damage, discoloration and hardening. If in doubt about the condition of the o-ring, it is better to replace it immediately.

If the underwater housing is not used for a longer period of time, it is wise to remove the o-ring from the underwater housing and store it lightly greased in a cool and dark place.
