AOI Lights
AOI video lights are a great solution for underwater video shooters and photographers who want constant light. Whether you're diving at night or illuminating close-up scenes, these compact lights provide powerful, even output.
What’s the difference between AOI video lights and dive lights?
On this page you'll find both AOI video lights and dive lights. While they may look similar at first glance, each type of light serves a different purpose underwater. Choosing the right one depends on your goals — whether you're filming a wide reef scene or simply illuminating your dive path.
AOI video lights – wide, even light for filming
AOI video lights are designed to provide a broad, even light beam with soft edges. Perfect for video recording or close-up photography. These are best mounted on a tray and arm system to control the direction and angle of light precisely — a must for stable, cinematic footage.
AOI dive lights – narrow beams for navigation
Dive lights from AOI, on the other hand, are designed with a narrow beam — usually between 6° and 15° — meant for visibility in low-light environments or night dives. These are not intended for video use, as their focused spot doesn’t cover enough area and can create harsh shadows on camera.
They are lightweight, easy to carry and perfect as a handheld primary or backup light. AOI’s dive lights are also popular among photographers as spotting lights or for directing focus during macro work (when not filming).
