The s-TURTLE 2 SMART+ underwater TTL trigger was developed for Sony high-end mirrorless camera systems, and the "+" in the name indicates that this upgraded version is also capable of controlling the new intelligent AOI strobe. It is the perfect choice for demanding underwater photographers who require a reliable TTL converter compatible with the most popular underwater strobes.
Compatible Sony camera models in TTL/MANUAL mode: A72, A7R2, A7S2 , A73, A7R3, A7S3, A7R4, A74, A1,A9, A9-2, A7C,A7CR, 6X00 series (HI+ continuous shooting is available in A74, A1, A7R5, A92 tested).
Compatible strobes (as of 01.2025.): Ikelite DS160, Inon Z240/Z330, Sea&Sea YS-D1, YS-D3 ,Subtronic 270, Retra PRO X , Backscatter Mini Flash 2 , RETRA PRO MAX (HSS mode available in manual (WL)mode!) and the new AOI intelli strobe in SONY mode.
The s-TURTLE 2 SMART is a state-of-the-art user-friendly TTL trigger that can be upgraded by the user via the USB port. It allows you to set up the strobe characteristics, and some special features. You can also check the settings or the battery level.
The user can set up the strobe model and can choose which mode will be used in "WL" mode. "WL" mode is a special manual mode where the trigger doesn't make preflash! It's possible to set this in the camera menu, so the user can easily change the trigger mode from manual/TTL or back under the water.
The WL mode can be configured to:
Manual mode with First curtain
Manual mode with Second curtain.
A special strobe mode (multiflashing expo (stroboscope mode, more details in manual.)
The Internal charging system works via USB AB connector via the USB cable which is in the box.
The package contains the s-TURTLE 2 SMART TTL trigger for Sony cameras. If you want to connect your strobe via fiber optic cable we recommend using multicore (613)cable! There is also a USB cable in the package for charging and upgrading.
The setup software for PC is downloadable from the TRT website.
A trigger LED cable is not include and has to be bought seperate.
