Compact, lightweight design with superior weatherproof performance. The lens housing is made of a magnesium alloy, while the lens hood is made of lightweight carbon fiber. As a result, the lens does not tend to hang forward when using the lens hood. In short: a perfect balance. The M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO is designed to give photographers continuous access to settings and options while shooting.
It uses an elaborate lens construction with 28 elements in 18 groups, including a completely newly developed Extra-low Dispersion Aspherical lens and four Super Extra-low Dispersion lenses. This guarantees less flare and eliminates unwanted color gradients over the entire zoom range. Excellent resolution right to the edges of the frame is therefore a matter of course, even with a lens like this, with a large diameter and a fixed aperture of F4.5. Olympus Original Z Coating Nano technology has also been applied to ensure sharp and clear images, even in difficult lighting conditions, such as in backlit environments.
