The Inon 90 Mega Float Arm 160 is designed to improve buoyancy control in underwater imaging setups. It offsets negative weight from housings, strobes, and video lights, supporting stable positioning during dives. The arm delivers 437 g (≈0.96 lb) buoyancy while maintaining a low weight of 219 g (≈0.48 lb) in air. Its hollow construction increases lift efficiency without adding unnecessary mass. With an effective length of 160 mm, this arm fits compact to mid-size configurations. The full length is 174 mm, including ball joints. This model provides approximately 20% more buoyancy compared to earlier S/M versions. It is suited for divers requiring controlled balance without increasing overall arm length significantly. For larger setups, a longer arm with increased buoyancy may be more suitable.

Detachable ball joints and optional length extension configuration

The ball joints are detachable and can be replaced with optional longer FA Ball 45 units. This increases the effective arm length and changes the positioning range of the setup. When two FA Ball 45 units are installed, the arm length increases by 40 mm. This allows wider spacing between lighting and camera, without replacing the full arm. This modular design allows adjustment of arm length and positioning depending on the rig configuration.

Detachable Ball Joints

Mounting strobes, lights or lensholders

Each ball joint includes a 3/8-inch female thread, which allows you to attach the YS BALL adapter or other accessories, such as lighting devices or action cameras easily. This simplifies the configuration and reduces the number of separate components.

The arm also supports up to two side-mounted lens holders. This enables compact integration of wet lenses within the same arm system.

Questions specific to this float arm model and configuration

When should I choose the 160 mm version?
This length is suited for compact to mid-size setups. It provides buoyancy without significantly increasing the overall arm span.

What is the difference between the 160 and 208 versions?
The 208 mm version is longer and provides more buoyancy. It is more suitable for heavier camera systems or wider lighting setups.

Can I extend the length of this arm?
Yes. The ball joints can be replaced with optional FA Ball 45 units. Installing two units increases the length by 40 mm (≈1.6 in).

What accessories can be mounted directly?
The ball joints include a 3/8-inch female thread. This allows direct mounting of lighting or accessory adapters in many configurations.
