How the focus ring lock works
The Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM uses a focus collar that moves forward for autofocus and back for manual focus. With the collar pushed forward, the silicone lock sits in the remaining space and prevents the collar from moving backwards. The lock sits over the gap rather than being pushed into it.
Installation and removal
Slide the focus ring lock onto the lens after moving the focus collar to the autofocus position. It can be removed and reattached between dives. Avoid stretching the silicone excessively during installation or removal.
