The acrylic 8-inch dome is specifically designed for underwater photography to provide superior optical performance. Compared to a smaller 4- or 6-inch diameter dome, the larger diameter reduces edge distortion on pictures taken with certain super-wide angle lenses and makes shooting over-under shots (half-in, half-out of the water) easier. Domes are ideal underwater for shooting wide angle lenses. If you're shooting a macro lens, we recommend using the Modular Glass Flat Front 5510.35 instead.

A full 8 "dome kit consists of two parts:
- Ikelite Dome assembly # 5510.45
- Depending on the lens used a Ikelite port body of the correct size
The following Ikelite Lens Extensions can be used in combination with the 8-inch Ikelite Modular Dome:

If you use any of these lenses is the possibility that there are preconditions. Here you can e.g. think of the removal of the black shade, or the use of a +2 / +4 diopter close-up.
