AOI FLR-02-BLU Ambient Filter for CLV-202

The AOI Aqua-Blend Ambient Filter FLR-02-BLU is designed exclusively for the AOI CLV-202 Video Light. It optimises the light output for modern action cameras by working with their automatic white balance instead of against it. The result is more natural underwater colours, smoother blending between artificial light and ambient sunlight, and less colour correction during editing. The filter is ideal for filming in shallow to medium-depth water and is highly recommended when used with the AOI UWL-03 Wide-Angle Lens or AOI UCL-03 Close-up Lens.

Natural underwater colours

Unlike traditional blue filters that create a strong colour shift, the Aqua-Blend Ambient Filter subtly adjusts the spectrum of the CLV-202 Video Light. This allows modern action cameras to maintain accurate white balance, producing realistic reef colours, natural skin tones and improved foreground detail.

Smooth blending with ambient light

The filter helps the light from the CLV-202 blend naturally with available sunlight. This reduces the harsh spotlight effect often seen when using video lights in clear, shallow water, creating a more balanced and natural-looking scene.

Recommended combinations

For the best results, AOI recommends combining the Aqua-Blend Ambient Filter with the AOI UWL-03 Wide-Angle Lens or AOI UCL-03 Close-up Lens. By allowing the camera to get closer to the subject, these lenses reduce the amount of water between the camera and the subject while the filter ensures natural colour throughout the image.
