COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT, AND FULLY EXPANDABLE!
Compact cameras are smaller cameras with a fixed lens. The great thing about a compact camera (as the name suggests) is that the camera is very small. This makes carrying a compact camera much easier compared to, for example, a system camera or DSLR. Compact cameras can be expanded with lighting (video lights or flashes), macro conversion lenses, and wide-angle conversion lenses.
There are quite a few differences between compact cameras. A 1/2.3" sensor or a 1" sensor is often used (which is a larger sensor).
A 1" sensor is bigger and ultimately captures much more light, resulting in better quality.
There are beginner models that automatically set many settings (very convenient!). Are you looking for more of a challenge and want to get creative yourself? Then we recommend an advanced compact camera, which can be fully manually set. Think of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.
Many camera models nowadays use a stabilized sensor. This is ideal for longer shutter speeds and video recordings! The sensor moves along with the movements.

Beginning underwater photographer? There's one camera that truly stands out in every aspect: OM System Tough TG-7!
The OM System Tough TG-7 is the ultimate macro camera. It is by far the most popular underwater camera in this price range at the moment.
The OM System Tough TG-7 underwater camera is the successor to the renowned Olympus TG-6. This compact camera is already waterproof down to 15 meters and, with the PT-059 underwater housing from Olympus, up to 45 meters deep.
The microscope mode (super macro) of the TG-7, just like the TG-6, is incredibly impressive. It offers by far the best macro capabilities of all compact cameras on the market. With the TG-7, you can take frame-filling (underwater) photos of the smallest nudibranchs or insects without needing additional lenses.
The TG-7 has the option to shoot in RAW and easily set the white balance. It offers 4K video: a resolution of 4K is much higher than Full HD, resulting in even better and sharper footage! In addition to the 4K video capability and RAW, the TG-7 also comes with a few fun features like a compass, manometer, thermometer, and GPS.
The camera is also shockproof, freezeproof, and crushproof, making it not only suitable for underwater use but also ideal for an active day out.
Truepic VIII
The TG-7 features a TruePicVIII image processor. This processor is also found in the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera and is much more powerful and faster than previous processors. Thanks to its improved algorithm, the camera can deliver better image quality in low-contrast conditions. This is especially beneficial when shooting at low ISO values!
RAW formaat
With the Tough TG-7, it is possible to shoot in both JPEG and RAW. The advantage of RAW is that you can adjust the white balance afterward and correct underexposure and overexposure without affecting the quality of the photo.
Key Specifications:
12 megapixels
4x optical zoom (25mm - 100mm)
3-inch LCD screen with 1,040k pixels
Special microscope mode for fantastic macro shots
Manual white balance

Camera with Many Possibilities
The Sony RX100 VA compact camera is fully manually adjustable. Are you ready to get creative with adjustments to aperture, shutter speeds, and ISO values? You can set the camera completely to your liking and capture the most unique photos. Of course, shooting in automatic mode is always an option. So, the camera is also certainly suitable for photographers who want to take a step further in underwater photography. The camera has a large sensor with the latest technologies, resulting in stunning image quality. It also offers high-quality video footage (4K video) with extensive adjustment options.
Ideal Zoom Range for Underwater Photography
The zoom range of this camera is 24-70mm, making it perfect for underwater photography. Underwater, you never zoom in with your camera. This is one of the most important guidelines in underwater photography. You need to get close to your subject to expose it well. This underwater camera is perfect for expansion with an external macro lens or wide-angle lens. With an external macro lens, you can capture the head of an exotic nudibranch in razor-sharp detail. With an external wide-angle lens, you can widen the field of view to about 11mm! This is great for taking an overview photo of a reef or wreck, or of course to immortalize your encounter with a big shark!
More Information about the Camera
This is the fifth generation of the Sony RX100 camera, and as we have come to expect, the camera has not drastically changed, but a number of noteworthy features have been added.
The most striking new feature is the autofocus system. The Fast Hybrid AF system uses 315 focus points and can shoot up to 150 photos at 24fps at the full resolution of 20.1 megapixels (even with AF/AE tracking). In practice, this means the camera should be able to focus within 0.05 seconds.
Just like the RX100 IV, this camera also uses the stacked CMOS image sensor of 13.2 x 8.8 mm. This type of sensor is a remarkable advancement in photography and videography. Capture wonderful images with this camera thanks to super slow motion of 1000fps, a distortion-free shutter with an incredible speed of 1/32,000 seconds, and 4K video. Enjoy endless creative freedom. The image quality of the RX100 VA is so stunning that you'll almost forget this is a compact device and not a professional camera!
The lens remains unchanged. On the front of the RX100 V camera is the familiar Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens with a range of 24-70mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.8-2.9. This lens offers excellent versatility for a wide range of subjects.
Pocket-Sized Video Camera
Enjoy incredibly realistic 4K recordings for 4K films of up to 5 minutes with the professional XAVC S codec. In 4K mode, the camera captures images at 24fps or 30fps with a bitrate of up to 100mbps.

20.1 megapixel 1" Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor
BIONZ X image processor and front-end LSI
