High image quality that goes beyond expectations of the sensor size

The new 20M Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and new TruePic X engine make the most of high-resolution M.Zuiko Digital lens performance, delivering stunning detail and low noise. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 exceeds the level of image quality that the sensor size would imply, delivering results approaching those of a full-frame camera. It is the optimal camera, offering both System portability and high image quality.

Stunning detail
The new image processing algorithm maximizes the high-speed processing power of the new TruePic X engine, faithfully capturing birds' feathers and the fur of wild animals. It delivers outstanding detail.

Standard ISO sensitivity range of ISO 25600
The highly noise efficient new 20M Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and new TruePic X engine, which has several hundred times more image processing capabilities than a general-purpose processor (3times more than TruePic IX), combine to reduce noise that tends to occur at high sensitivities , and achieves a standard high ISO sensitivity range of ISO 25600. High sensitivity settings are available up to ISO 102400. Capture subjects at fast shutter speeds even in environments that are not bright enough, such as at indoor sporting venues.

High dynamic range for expressing a rich range of tones
The latest image processing technologies of the new Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and new TruePic X engine deliver a rich range of expression from shadows to highlights.

High-performance IS for hand-held shooting even at slow shutter speeds
Carrying over the tradition of OM SYSTEM strengths. High-performance IS delivers up to 7 steps*1 of compensation with the body alone for shots with zero camera shake (8steps*2 with sync IS). Enjoy relaxed capturing of images that can only be shot with a slow shutter speed, all without needing a tripod. The OM-1 is equipped with Handheld Assist, a feature that helps framing when shooting at slow shutter speeds.

High-speed performance for accurately capturing split-second moments
An essential part of photography is the ability to capture fleeting moments. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 is powered by the latest digital technologies, making it possible to capture split-second moments of any type of subject. Never miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

1,053-point, all cross-type 100% coverage with new AF
The new Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor uses a Cross Quad Pixel AF mode. A quad division photo diode configuration enables acquisition of On-chip Phase Detection information in both vertical and horizontal directions. This design has made it possible to focus on various patterns of subjects across all pixels and the entire shooting range. AF is available for the subject no matter where it is in the frame.

Advanced Face Detection AF
The detection accuracy, tracking, and response of Face Priority/Eye Priority AF have been vastly improved thanks to the high-speed processing abilities of the new TruePic X engine. This performance is also available in video shooting, allowing users to accurately focus in a variety of scenes.

Pro Capture 120 fps sequential shooting for capturing the ultimate split-second moments
Pro Capture begins recording once the shutter button is pressed halfway (1st release) and records previous frames beginning with the moment when the shutter button is pressed fully (2nd release), ensuring users never miss moments caused by time lag from human reaction and camera operation. Up to 120 fps (AF/AE lock) high-speed sequential shooting makes it possible to capture split-second moments of fast-moving subjects and to extract them from slow-motion videos. Up to 70 frames can be captured from previously recorded frames. Up to 50 fps shooting is possible in AF/AE tracking.

AF/AE tracking 50 fps high-speed sequential shooting
The new Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and new TruePic X engine deliver blistering sequential shooting* performance. This model is capable of 50 fps high-speed sequential shooting during AF/AE tracking and 120 fps in AF/AE lock. This capability makes it possible to capture extremely fast-moving subjects.

Video functions that meet the needs of the most demanding creators
Recording videos on interchangeable lens cameras is now mainstream. In addition to the camera, videographers now use a variety of equipment when recording videos, such as external monitors, gimbals. This can make video equipment heavy and large. Thanks to its compact, lightweight design and high-performance image stabilization, the OM SYSTEM OM-1 clearly stands out as a small, lightweight system. This design makes it ideal as a casual video system.

High-definition 4K, 60p video
This model is capable of 4K, 60p videos, for achieving smooth, high-definition imaging expressions. In FHD, up to 240p high-speed movie* shooting is also possible. Thanks to the high-performance image stabilization and compact system design including the lens, this model is perfect for mobile creative video production for everyone from professional videographers and Vloggers.

RAW video recording for advanced post-production tasks
RAW video data output to external equipment is now available, enabling advanced post-production tasks for video production pros. RAW video data can be output in a 12-bit RGB palette. In addition to the conventional HDMI monitor connection, the color correction range has also been expanded. Video is recorded in Apple ProRes RAW format on the supported external output device (compatible devices: Atomos NINJA V, NINJA V+). With HDMI monitor connection, video can be output at 10-bit and 8-bit YUV format. Not only can users check recorded video on an external monitor, but it is also possible to use external devices to record output images. Recorded video can be checked on the camera monitor while shooting.
